  1. After just a few years they’re ripping out a pomegranate orchard to cut water use. “The baby tumbleweeds have come home”, writes the author. Tumbleweeds aren’t actually native to Kern county…. Seems like a huge opportunity for restoration spending if the WONderful empress still wants to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Intact natire has been shown to be very therapeutic; they should switch businesses and hire restorations instead. Plenty of farm labor neede for that, too.
