Interesting historical context for the tudor linens: the primary European growing region for flax, to make linnen, is Flanders. England just doesn’t have the soul and climate for it, not on a large scale anyway. The Tudor era dependence on linen made Flanders rich, and made the English seek alternative, cheaper, and domestic sources of natural fiber. Hence the boom of American cotton growing colonies in the next century. 😉
